“Joyride into Jeopardy!”

In "Joyride into Jeopardy!", Wolverine finds himself at a crossroads—both literally and emotionally—sitting alone in a dimly lit bar, wrestling with his complicated feelings for Jean Grey and his simmering tension toward Cyclops. The uneasy quiet shatters when Hercules, the Greek demigod, storms in and provokes the mutant, sparking a brutal, no-holds-barred brawl that leaves the bar in ruins. Written by Jo Duffy and brought to life by Ken Landgraf’s dynamic art with George Pérez’s powerful inks, this 1979 Marvel UK issue captures a raw, character-driven clash that’s as much about inner turmoil as it is about fists. Cover by Michael Higgins.

Wolverine is lone and brooding, sitting in a bar (the first of many bar tropes) agonizing over his love for Jean Grey and his dislike for Cyclops. The internal conflict is disrupted when Hercules, the Greek demigod, enters the establishment and begins provoking and bullying Wolverine. This leads to a fierce and chaotic bar fight between the two characters.
