Ken Landgraf
1950–
Ken Landgraf, born in 1950, is an American artist whose career in comics spanned from the late 1970s into the 1990s. He is best remembered for illustrating "At the Sign of the Lion," a story widely recognized as the first published solo adventure of Wolverine. Over two decades, Landgraf contributed to roughly two dozen issues as an artist, inker, letterer, and writer, with his most frequent credits appearing on *Superman*, *High Times Magazine*, *Power Stars*, *Far Frontier*, and *Marvel Comic*. His style, rooted in the clean linework and dynamic storytelling of the era, lent itself well to both superhero adventures and the more offbeat humor of titles like *Hari Kari Goes Hollywood*. While he never became a household name, his work on that pivotal Wolverine tale secured his place in comic history. Beyond comics, Landgraf worked as a storyboard illustrator and commercial artist. His legacy is that of a capable journeyman who, at a key moment, helped shape the early mythology of one of Marvel’s most enduring characters.
