Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #34
Few matchups are more delightfully absurd than a Little League showdown between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin, and that's exactly what this all-ages issue delivers right on its cover — Spidey in a baseball uniform sliding into home plate while the Goblin, decked out in full catcher's gear, blocks the plate with menacing green glee, as young teammates look on in wide-eyed disbelief. The cover by penciler Patrick Scherberger and inker Norman Lee is a genuinely fun piece of work, staging the clash as a dusty, diamond-at-stake collision backed by a ballpark scoreboard. With Fred Van Lente writing and Cory Hamscher on art, "Un-Natural" promises the kind of imaginative, all-ages fun that made this series a treat for readers of every age in 2008.
