In this emotionally charged installment from the Marvel Official Collection #38, Quicksilver—stripped of his powers and drowning in despair—makes a desperate bid for an end, only to survive a fall that leaves him broken. With the Inhumans' help, he begins to rebuild, finding unexpected solace in time with his daughter Luna. But when he seeks to reclaim his strength through the Terrigen mists against the will of Black Bolt and Medusa, his fate takes a dangerous turn. Written by David Hine and brought to life by Roy Allan Martinez’s expressive art and Peter Pantazis’s vivid colors, with a striking cover by John Watson, this issue captures a pivotal moment in Quicksilver’s journey.

Without his powers, Quicksilver finds life not worth the living and tries to kill himself by jumping off of a building. Despite Spider-Man's best efforts to stop him, his spine snaps when he lands and he is gravely injured. Crystal and Lockjaw take him back to the Inhumans to be healed. After spending some time with his daughter, Luna, his spirits begin to be restored. He asks for permission to enter the Terrigen mists in order to gain new powers but is denied by Black Bolt and Medusa. He does it anyway.
