# Marmaduke Mouse #8 The issue contains two main stories. In the first, Marmaduke and a dog named Frowzy become stuck in mud while the dog is trying to exercise and wash his car, leading to a comedic sequence where Marmaduke must help push the car free. In the second story, Marmaduke goes rabbit hunting with his rifle but encounters a rabbit who pleads with him not to shoot, claiming he has millions of children; after backing away, Marmaduke is outsmarted by the rabbit and accidentally shoots himself with his rifle. A third story features Marmaduke helping a grasshopper named Podnor rig a saddle with never-slip glue so the grasshopper can ride his wife in a contest, with Marmaduke and other insects watching as contestant number one—an anson bug named Dynamite—prepares to ride.
