When Marmaduke and his friend Goofy awaken, Marmaduke's cousin Cuthbert arrives and reveals he plans to move into Marmaduke's swell house, prompting Marmaduke to embark on adventures involving disguises, encounters with police, and a scheme to steal flowers from an old lady to sell to a florist.
When King finds his treasury nearly empty, Prince Pinky and his friend Pudd turn to Mr. Mullin the court magician for help—but Mullin won't lift a finger without a promised yo-yo. Instead, the boys borrow a magic book and discover a formula for King Midas's legendary touch, leading the King to accidentally turn everything he touches into gold, including food, water, and even Prince Pinky himself. Now it's up to Pudd to find a way to break the spell before the King's newfound wealth becomes a curse he can't escape.
Marmaduke Mouse and Goofy Gopher are shanghaied aboard a ship while they sleep—whisked away by Cuthbert Cat, who plans to take over Marmaduke's house while they're gone. When the two friends finally wake, they find themselves at the mercy of a gruff captain who puts them to work, only to accidentally sleep through their duties as lookouts during a terrible hurricane. As the storm tears the ship apart and carries their crow's nest across sea and land, Marmaduke and Goofy remain blissfully asleep, unaware of the chaos unfolding around them.
