Marmaduke Mouse #17

The issue contains two main stories. The first follows Marmaduke Mouse and his friend Louie as they encounter a theatrical rooster named Godfrey and his niece, who are rehearsing for a stage performance; when the rooster becomes difficult and insulting, Marmaduke and Louie devise a trick involving a "tricky tiger" to teach him humility, resulting in slapstick chaos including boat-related mishaps. The second story depicts Marmaduke attempting to become a television sensation by proposing increasingly absurd schemes, including putting Louie on ether and making him a television star, before eventually masquerading as an ether-dazed version of himself to pitch sponsors and promote his fake television show.
