“Loving Christmas”

In "Loving Christmas," Jem tries to be thoughtful by letting Rosemary dance with others—after all, he’s never been much of a dancer. But when she quietly wishes he’d show a little more jealousy, her curiosity gets the better of her. Following him one evening, she spots him entering the home of an old friend, sparking a moment of quiet tension. Written by E. Durrant and illustrated by Richard Neillands (with inks by the same), this 1958 tale captures a tender, bittersweet moment in a quiet holiday season. The cover by Richard Neillands complements the story’s gentle mood.

Jem lets Rosemary dance with other guys because he has two left feet and he wants her to enjoy herself. But she wishes he were a little more jealous. When one of the girls suggests that Jem might have other reasons not to be jealous, she follows him and sees him entering the house of an old girl friend.
