Manifest Destiny #27

Matthew Roberts delivers a genuinely unsettling cover for Manifest Destiny #27 — a massive, moss-encrusted creature dominates the frame, its grotesque face half-revealed through a tangle of whipping white tendrils, with a single glowing green eye staring out from decayed, fungal flesh. The creature's clawed hands and mossy bulk fill nearly the entire composition, making the thing feel enormous and deeply wrong in the way only this series can manage. Chris Dingess and Roberts continue to find fresh horror in the American frontier, and Owen Gieni's earthy, corroded color palette gives this particular beast a thoroughly organic dread.
