Manifest Destiny continues its supernatural reimagining of the Lewis and Clark expedition with issue #26, and this unsettling cover by Matthew Roberts makes a strong case for why the series has earned its devoted following. A figure in period clothing stares out from near-darkness as a swirling, luminous white mass engulfs half their face — something between a spectral presence and a corrosive force that feels genuinely threatening. Chris Dingess and Roberts, with colors by Owen Gieni lending the whole image a cold, sickly green pallor, keep delivering frontier horror with real craft.
