Manifest Destiny #12 brings the tension of Image's frontier horror series to a striking focal point, with Matthew Roberts delivering a cover dominated by a formidable assembly of Native warriors — a central elder figure crowned in an elaborate feathered headdress and bird-skull regalia commanding the group from behind, while a young woman bearing face paint and a spear stands resolute in the foreground, flanked by warriors carrying painted shields. Owen Gieni's earthy, weathered colors give the whole image a weight and gravity that makes this gathering feel like a reckoning rather than a portrait. Chris Dingess's reimagining of the Lewis and Clark expedition has rarely looked this compelling.
