Mad-Dog #6
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis 1993 Marvel/Ace Comics co-production wraps up the Mad-Dog series with a cover — penciled by Gordon Purcell and Ty Templeton and inked by Ian Akin and Ty Templeton — that earns its self-proclaimed "Special Constant Violence Issue!!" badge in full. Mad-Dog himself charges front and center in his blue-and-yellow costume, wielding a heavy weapon, while a chaotic street brawl erupts around him: a red demonic figure claws from the left, a green creature looms from above, a large rocky mass threatens from the right, and a crowd of colorful bystanders and combatants scrambles in every direction. Writer Evan Dorkin and artist Gordon Purcell clearly had a gleeful sense of humor about superhero excess, and this cover delivers that energy with cheerful, overcrowded abandon.
