The cover by Gordon Purcell, Ty Templeton, and Albrecht says it all: Mad-Dog — in full blue-and-orange costume, collar around his neck, leash in someone else's hand — crouches on all fours in front of a dog bowl, grinning and barking "Woof." The fishnet-stocking-clad legs looming beside him make the promised "most humiliating adventure" feel entirely earned. Writer Evan Dorkin and artist Gordon Purcell deliver this 1993 Marvel/Ace Comics gem with a title — "Biting the Hand That Feeds You" — that matches the cover's cheerfully self-deprecating humor perfectly.
