MAD #357 from May 1997 tackles "The Ins and Outs of Same-Sex Weddings" with the magazine's trademark satirical gusto, featuring a cover by C. F. Payne and Rick Tulka depicting two caricatured figures in full bridal gowns, veils, and bouquets standing before an officiant seen from behind. The two brides — one sporting round dark sunglasses and long hair, the other with visible tattoos and a mischievous expression — make for a wonderfully absurd wedding portrait against a bright pink backdrop. Rounding out the issue is "The People vs. Larry Fylth," brought to life by writer Stan Hart and artist/inker Angelo Torres, promising the sharp, irreverent humor MAD delivered so reliably in the late '90s.
