“Battyman”

In "Battyman," a 1989 Mad issue that delivers its usual brand of satirical chaos, the infamous Battyman pursues the newly transformed Jerker—once criminal Yack Nattier, now a twisted menace after a fall into toxic waste. Written by Stan Hart and illustrated with sharp, exaggerated flair by Mort Drucker, the story thrives on absurdity and escalating mayhem, culminating in a climactic showdown that ends with both combatants seemingly escaping their fate. The cover, by Richard Williams, captures the moment with a perfectly grotesque flourish.

Fleeing from Battyman, criminal Yack Nattier falls into a vat of toxic waste and becomes the Jerker. The Jerker begins a citywide campaign of shooting, killing, and poisoning, laughing all the way. As the Jerker falls to his death during a fight, Battyman follows. That way they can both avoid the sequel.
