This third and final chapter of "The Breach" arrives with one of the most quietly striking covers of Vertigo's 2005 lineup, painted by Mike Kaluta. A dark-haired young woman holds a red-haired toddler and a matching doll with tender intensity, while a vast, ghostly winged figure looms in the blue-toned background — protective or threatening, it's genuinely hard to say. Mike Carey, Peter Gross, and Ryan Kelly bring this arc to its conclusion with the same unsettling mix of the intimate and the cosmic that defines this series at its best.
