In "A Dalliance with the Damned Part 2 of 3," the tension escalates as Seviram and his allies scheme to overthrow Lord Arux during the Eve of Candles celebration. With calculated cruelty, Seviram pushes Glieve to betray Lady Lys—only to kill him when he refuses—and then manipulates Brosag into a fatal duel with Rudd, culminating in Brosag’s death. As the night reaches its climax, Lucifer and Mazikeen arrive in Effrul, setting the stage for what’s to come. Written by Mike Carey and illustrated by Peter Gross, Dean Ormston, with inks by Ryan Kelly and Dean Ormston, colors by Daniel Vozzo and Jamison, and lettering by Comicraft, the issue’s cover by Christopher Moeller captures the dark elegance of the moment.
