Lucifer #10
From Vertigo's 2016 run, this tenth issue of Holly Black, Lee Garbett, and Antonio Fabela's Lucifer series carries a cover by Dave Johnson that radiates an unsettling kind of majesty. A dark-haired young woman lounges with cool nonchalance on an ornate golden throne flanked by winged lion carvings, a bloodstained axe resting at its side and a gleaming sword hovering in the radiant light above — the whole image suggesting both divine authority and something deeply irreverent about who now occupies that seat. "Father Lucifer Part Four: World Unchained" promises that whatever power struggles are unfolding in this arc, the stakes are nothing short of cosmic.
