Kitty claims to know just about everybody in show-biz and she tries to prove it by meeting Red Karen, who had once dated Kitty's sister. Red doesn't recognize her and all she gets is an autograph book in the mail along with a letter. She discovers that the letter was put in the wrong envelope by mistake. Using the letter as a means of speaking to Red, the initials on her handbag cause her to be mistaken for Kate Frawley, who wants a job as a singer. Her initial attempts to explain are interrupted and soon Kitty finds she has fallen for Red's manager, Eddie.
