Newspaper reporter Ellen has a crush on romance novelist Vance, although when she meets him she is surprised he says some of things he does about women. They fall in love, but Ellen discovers Vance's books have all been ghostwritten by Julia. When Ellen reads Vance's newest book, she finds that he described their love affair, and angrily writes an exposé. Julia says that Vance wrote his latest novel himself because he loves Ellen. Ellen fears her review has ruined everything, but her editor changed the story completely. Vance and Ellen will be married.
