Eros, in turmoil over Persephone's suffering, and over his own loss of Psyche, takes out his frustrations by killing mortals. Hermes subdues him, and takes him to Zeus. Aphrodite offers Zeus sexual favors in place of punishment for her son. He confesses his relationship with Psyche, and the shipwreck that this relationship has become for both of them.
