Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies #121

This November 1951 Dell issue captures Bugs Bunny at his trickiest, holding up a scowling red villain mask right in front of a window while a wide-eyed Porky Pig looks on in stunned surprise from inside — a perfectly staged bit of Looney Tunes mischief that practically jumps off the bright yellow cover. Cover pencils are by Ralph Heimdahl, whose clean, expressive linework brings just the right amount of rubbery cartoon energy to the gag. At a dime a copy, this is a cheerful snapshot of early-'50s Dell humor comics doing exactly what they did best.
