Loki: Agent of Asgard #9
The roles have been gloriously reversed in this 2015 installment of Loki: Agent of Asgard — the cover, rendered by Lee Garbett and colored by Nolan Woodard, plays up the inversion with knowing wit, casting a shirtless, axe-wielding Thor as the looming villain atop a rocky crag while a wary young Loki looks up from below, magic at the ready. Cover text gleefully announces "Thor, the God of Villainy" as Loki's sworn enemy, leaning hard into the AXIS-era moral flip with a playful Silver Age layout complete with teaser blurbs for "Lorelei's Larcenous Looting!" and "Odin's Judgment!" Al Ewing's run has been full of surprises, and this issue — promising both a heroic Loki on the back foot and a Thor turned dangerous — looks like another sharp, fun chapter in one of Marvel's most entertaining series of the era.
