Lobo: Portrait of a Bastich #[nn]
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeIn "Part One: Portrait of a Psychopath," Lobo’s latest attempt at redemption takes a wild turn when he’s reincarnated as a woman during World War II, only to be killed again after a brief run-in with General Glory. Written by Keith Giffen and Alan Grant, with art by Keith Giffen and Simon Bisley, this twisted journey through time and form sees Lobo reborn as an albino squirrel—only to meet his end once more at the hands of the ever-evil Loo and his brother Feces. The cover by Simon Bisley captures the chaotic, grotesque charm of the series, setting the tone for a story where even Heaven can’t keep up with Lobo’s misadventures.
In "Part One: Portrait of a Psychopath," Lobo is out for blood after discovering an unauthorized biography of his life—written by his fourth grade teacher, Miss Tribb. Now caught between vengeance and a new mission from Dox to bring her in alive, Lobo finds himself in a twisted situation where the one person he wants dead is the very same he’s sworn to protect.
In "Part Two: Lord of the Dance," Lobo’s chaotic pursuit of Miss Tribb takes a bizarre turn when she briefly escapes to attend a local ballet—only to disrupt and dramatically improve the performance with her own brand of flair. Backed by the writer’s sharp humor and the artist’s dynamic visuals, the story finds Lobo reclaiming his wayward captive with his usual flair, leaving her with a permanent reminder of her misstep—though, of course, she’s a Czarnian, so it’s not the end of the story.
In "Part Three: Spell or Die!", Lobo and Miss Tribb are snatched mid-scan by a ship of hyper-intellectuals who force the mercenary to compete in a deadly spelling bee—where wrong answers mean disintegration. With Miss Tribb recalling Lobo’s less-than-stellar academic past, she’s not counting on his grim experience with death and destruction to give him an edge. As the stakes rise and the words get harder, Lobo’s survival instincts kick in—leaving him ready for a well-earned break.
In "Part 3: If the Jackboot Fits...!", Lobo—now trapped in a series of increasingly absurd incarnations—finds himself reborn as a woman during World War II, only to be killed again in a bid to return to Heaven. After a clerical mishap sends him reincarnated as an albino squirrel, he’s swiftly dispatched once more by the very villains who ended his first life. With his usual blend of fury and fatal charm, the Main Man pleads with the divine for one final chance to reclaim his original form and time.
