Lobo: Death and Taxes #3

Part three of four in this mature-readers DC miniseries finds Lobo's story continuing under the wry banner of "Audits and Sod Its," with writing duties shared by Keith Giffen and Alan Grant. Paolo Parente's cover delivers a visceral, striking image: a massive, blue-skinned fist — chain-wrapped at the wrist and dripping blood — clutching fanned-out $100 bills against a blazing orange-red background, the money itself splattered red as if the Main Man's approach to finance is exactly as brutal as you'd expect. It's a wonderfully grim visual joke that captures Lobo's sensibility perfectly, with interior work by artist Alex Horley rounding out the creative team.
