Part two of this four-issue mature-readers miniseries finds the Main Man himself glowering from the cover with those blazing red eyes, a lit cigar clenched in his fist and a roaring torch nearby — all set against an April calendar with the 15th ominously circled and a skull doodled at its center. Paolo Parente's painted cover work gives Lobo a genuinely unsettling, almost sculptural menace that suits the "Death and Taxes" premise perfectly. With Giffen and Grant sharing scripting duties and Alex Horley handling interior art, this 1996 DC series clearly has no shortage of creative firepower behind it.
