“Lobo's Big Birfday Bash”

Lobo's 25th issue arrives in March 1996 with one of the more darkly comedic covers in the series' run — a battered birthday cake reading "Happy Birthday," its candles still burning, being crushed by the hook end of Lobo's massive, chain-linked weapon against a blood-red background. The image sets a perfectly twisted tone for "Lobo's Big Birfday Bash," with cover pencils by Steve Ellis and inks by John Dell delivering that gleefully grim humor the Main Man does so well. Alan Grant and Ellis team up inside, so fans of their work together have every reason to celebrate alongside the galaxy's most dangerous bounty hunter.
