Lion #89 is an anthology issue featuring three main stories: "Captain Condor and the Spaceship Spy," in which space pilot Captain Condor and his companions Pete and Butch discover enemy agents attempting to sabotage their vessel on an uncharted moon and must stop them from striking at the dictator's headquarters; "Redskin Raiders of the Railroad," a Western story in which Matt and Salty pursue Pawnee raiders who have stolen supplies intended for a railroad bridge construction at Dead Horse Gorge, leading to a climactic confrontation; and "Stormy Tate—Skipper of the Wheezy Anna" by R.G. Thomas, following the adventures of a ship's skipper investigating a government vessel and uncovering sabotage involving a sunken safe. The issue also includes a "World-Wide Quiz" feature with various trivia questions.
