Lion #90 is an anthology publication featuring five picture stories. "Captain Condor and the Spaceship" follows space pilot Captain Condor, who establishes a secret headquarters on the uncharted moon Zor and discovers a spy working for Zor's dictator, initiating a search for the saboteur. A western story depicts Black Bear and his braves crossing a river ford when a sudden dam release creates a catastrophic flood that sweeps away part of his party, forcing them to navigate toward Yawning Canyon. "Stormy Tate—Skipper of the Wheezy Anna," a text story by R. G. Thomas, follows the ship's skipper as he uncovers counterfeit money hidden aboard his vessel and confronts the smugglers responsible. The issue also includes a "World-Wide Quiz" feature with ten illustrated questions on general knowledge topics.
