Lincoln #3
The third volume of this Franco-Belgian Western series brings "Playground" to life with a striking bird's-eye view: a bloodied man lies sprawled in a dusty back-alley corridor, surrounded by scattered debris, a lantern, and a barrel, the narrow passage hemmed in by weathered wooden structures on either side. Jérôme Jouvray's cover composition — looking straight down from above — gives the scene an unsettling, almost cinematic stillness that sets a grim, atmospheric tone. Written by Olivier Jouvray and Sophro, with colors by Anne-Claire Jouvray completing the muted, sun-bleached palette, this 2008 entry in the Lincoln series promises a story as rough and unforgiving as the frontier alley it depicts.
