This Fall 1945 DC offering delivers a wonderfully absurd scene: Nero Fox — billed as "The Jive-Jumping Emperor of Ancient Rome" — strides along in imperial robes clutching a saxophone, while a small wooden puppet-like figure peeks out from a doorway pleading for quiet because the children are asleep. Ed Dunn's cover art captures a perfectly charming collision of ancient Rome and mid-century silliness, with the story title "Treachery on the High 'C's!" promising that Nero's musical ambitions are about to cause some very comic trouble. At 52 pages for just ten cents, this one offers a lot of fun for the price of admission.
