“Bumps and Grinds”

In "Bumps and Grinds," Veronica’s dad bans her from spending money—so she cleverly drags Archie on a shopping trip to buy a new hat he’s sure to dislike. What starts as a scheme to get her father to loosen up ends up with Archie reluctantly buying the hat, only to hand it over to Veronica, who had the whole plan from the start. Written by George Gladir, with colors by Barry Grossman and letters by Bill Yoshida, this 1978 classic features a cover by Stan Goldberg and Rudy Lapick.

When Veronica's father forbids her to spend any more money, she takes Archie shopping to help him pick out a new hat, which he doesn't like, but buys anyway, and ends up giving to Veronica (which was her plan all along).
