After a shocking confrontation with her co-anchor Gary Grimlove—whose sudden, explosive self-destruction reveals he was a robot built to be the perfect bland frontman—Wanda demands accountability. With her usual wit and nerve, she refuses to be sidelined, threatening to expose NIT’s secret unless she gets the power to choose her own assignments and co-anchor. Written and drawn by Bob Bolling, with coloring by Barry Grossman and lettering by Bolling, this 1989 issue features a cover by Dan DeCarlo and Jim DeCarlo.

As Archie and Reggie struggle to manage the beast of a fish, Mr. Weatherbee finds himself unexpectedly swept into the action—on a very slippery ride.
In "The Noose Behind the Nightly News, or It Was a Real Hang Up," Wanda Wunderbuss, the glamorous anchor of the NIT Nightly News, starts to question why she’s always the one risking her life on globe-trotting assignments while her co-anchor, Gary Grimlove, enjoys the safety of the studio. When she finally snaps and punches him—only to discover he was a robot designed to be the perfect, mindless on-air presence—Wanda uses the revelation to demand control over her career.
When Archie’s horoscope warns that “wheels will be his undoing,” he takes it too literally, ditching the car for a bizarre cross-country trek with The Archies—on a balloon, a dogsled, and snowshoes. They arrive at their gig late, only to discover their spot has been taken by a rival band called The Wheels.
