The issue contains three stories. "The Defender of the Truth" follows Lash LaRue as he confronts criminals Glossy and Jasper, then pursues the escaped outlaw Wyatt, ultimately helping capture him at a mine where criminals are attempting to steal gold by tunneling through to an elevator shaft. "Ghost in the Hills" involves Lash dealing with a situation where a loan paper tied to a man's death becomes central to exposing a criminal scheme involving the railroad company. "The Suspect" shows Lash confronting a character who spent two years in jail and is seeking to settle a score, with the resolution appearing to involve Lash's intervention in the final panels.
