A dusty main street turns into a powder keg on this Charlton cover by Stan Campbell, as Lash LaRue squares off against the Cinder Kid while townsfolk scatter behind barrels and wagon wheels. The speech bubble says it all — "There's going to be a showdown!" — and the tension crackling between the two black-hatted rivals makes it easy to believe every word. Issue #61 delivers the kind of no-nonsense frontier drama that made this series a reliable ten-cent thrill in 1956.
