Lady Killer #1
This German-language Panini edition of Lady Killer opens with one of the most striking covers of 2016: a perfectly coiffed housewife in a vivid pink dress and yellow rubber gloves stands calmly in a blood-splattered kitchen, mop in hand, the picture of mid-century domesticity gone delightfully wrong. Joëlle Jones — who also writes and illustrates the interior chapter "Kapitel Eins" alongside Jamie Rich — delivers a cover that says everything about the series' sharp, darkly comic tone without giving a single secret away. It's a genuinely clever collision of suburban glamour and grim reality that makes it almost impossible not to flip the page.
