Lady Death agrees to single combat with Asteroth but only if he agrees to serve her if she wins. She does and adds one of the strongest of Hell's arch dukes to her forces. Michael and the angels begin the process of the Rapture, but Lucifer subverts it by placing an impenetrable barrier around the earth that kills the chosen who are being lifted to Heaven.
