Lady Death sees through Purgatori's ruse (she is disguised as LD's mother) and stops her from getting close enough to drink her blood. Purgatori resurrects Cremator and forces him to create a sword that will release Lucifer from Lady Death's body. Lady Death and Purgatori battle but, when Purgatori stabs her with her new sword, she discovers that Lucifer's essence is not trapped inside of Lady Death and never was.
