La Lignée #2
The cover of this 2012 Bamboo Édition release sets the stage beautifully: a stern priest in black clerical clothing clutches a book at the fore, flanked by four figures — a rough-edged man to his left and three younger people, including a woman, grouped to his right — all rendered against a muted teal cityscape that hints at generational depth. The header names spanning from Antonin 1937 through Marius 1954, Maxime 1973, and Diane & David 1994 make clear that La Lignée traces a family across decades, with this volume centered on the 1954 chapter. Xavier Delaporte's clean, expressive linework gives the ensemble a quiet gravity that makes you want to follow every branch of this family tree.
