1974, Maxime a 32 ans. Fils de Marius, il vit à Paris avec sa compagne et ses jumeaux. Plongé dans l'univers du rock, de la drogue et de l'alcool, il part pour New York avec deux potes sur les traces d'un nouveau groupe qui l'ensorcelle : les Ramones. Alors qu'ils arpentent les rues à leur recherche, Maxime est interpellé par l'affiche d'une exposition. Le visuel, une tête de "Muisca" de l'art précolombien, ressemble à celle dessinée dans le carnet que lui a laissé son père. Entre délires psychédéliques et vraies croyances, Maxime décide de stopper cette fameuse malédiction...
