Paris, 1937. Antonin Brossard fait la connaissance d'un oncle inconnu qui prétend qu'une malédiction familiale provoquerait la mort inéluctable des aînés Brossard dans leur 34è année. Pour preuve, il confie à Antonin un carnet retraçant cette longue suite de drames familiaux. D'abord sceptique, celui-ci finit par s'interroger.
