Kull and his troop pursue the wizard Khornah, who keeps them at bay with his mystic gemstone. Khornah calls for a crystal warrior, Shemenon, to battle Kull. Kull seems doomed until Khornah is confronted by the wizard Sarna, an old enemy of Kull's. Kareesha explains the wizard's conflict, and sets Kull and his party on the path to Hell to right some wrongs. Sarna awaits Kull to fulfill his vengeance for his prior defeat at Kull's hands.
