King: Jungle Jim #1

Dynamite's 2015 revival of the pulp adventurer Jungle Jim kicks off in style with a striking cover by Darwyn Cooke — a bearded, hooded Jim stands knee-deep in a jungle swamp, machete drawn and ready, as the coiling body of a massive serpent lurks ominously around him. The lush, dappled greenery and lily-pad-dotted water give the scene a deceptively tranquil beauty that makes the lurking danger all the more compelling. Writer Paul Tobin and artist Sandy Jarrell bring this classic King Features hero back to life, and if this opening issue's atmosphere is any indication, it's a very wild jungle indeed.
