Kill Shakespeare #2
In "Chapter One" of Kill Shakespeare, Hamlet ventures into the eerie, shifting wood known as the Globe, only to find Shakespeare himself a disillusioned, drunken figure who refuses to aid him. As tensions rise, Iago spreads a lie to Lady Macbeth, claiming Hamlet is dead, while his own schemes grow darker—hinting at a deadly plan involving Hamlet’s dagger. Written by Anthony Del Col and Conor McCreery, with art by Andy Belanger and colors by Ian Herring, this issue blends Shakespearean drama with high-stakes intrigue, all framed by Kagan McLeod’s striking cover.

Hamlet goes alone into the wood called the Globe, barely reaching Shakespeare alive. It's a disappointing meeting, as drunken Shakespeare pours contempt on Hamlet, and refuses to help the prodigals. Meanwhile Iago falsely tells Lady Macbeth that Hamlet is dead. Beaten by Falstaff and Romeo, Iago sneers that Lady Macbeth's power will soon kill Hamlet and Shakespeare alike, using Hamlet's dagger.
