Kill Shakespeare #9
In "Is This a Dagger I See Before Me?", Hamlet ventures into the treacherous Globe wood, desperate to find Shakespeare—only to face a disillusioning encounter with the drunken bard, who turns him away. Meanwhile, Iago spreads a lie to Lady Macbeth, whispering that Hamlet is dead, while his own schemes grow darker with every step. Written by Conor McCreery and Anthony Del Col, with art by Andy Belanger and coloring by Ian Herring, this issue blends Shakespearean drama with high-stakes intrigue. The cover, by Kagan McLeod, captures the tension in a single, haunting image.

Hamlet goes alone into the wood called the Globe, barely reaching Shakespeare alive. It's a disappointing meeting, as drunken Shakespeare pours contempt on Hamlet, and refuses to help the prodigals. Meanwhile Iago falsely tells Lady Macbeth that Hamlet is dead. Beaten by Falstaff and Romeo, Iago sneers that Lady Macbeth's power will soon kill Hamlet and Shakespeare alike, using Hamlet's dagger.
