Kid Montana accepts a job to finish a task Old Tom never had a chance to complete, which involves stopping a group of Sioux from blocking a mountain trail and seizing gold. After a confrontation with vigilantes led by Jim Bridger and a man named Jeff, Kid Montana encounters Big Mike and learns that the Sioux are planning to ambush them. Following clues through the wilderness, Kid Montana climbs a mountain pass and discovers a Norse rune, suggesting an unexpected twist in the treasure's origins.
