Ka-Zar #3

The tagline says it all — "Their Final Battle!" — and Andy Kubert and Jesse Delperdang's cover delivers on that promise with a visceral snow-swept clash between a massive, horned armored villain looming over a battered, blonde Ka-Zar sprawled across the frozen ground, dagger still in hand. The desperate stakes feel palpable in every churned-up snowdrift and strained muscle on display. Mark Waid's 1997 run on Ka-Zar was already earning attention, and this third issue makes a compelling visual case that the story titled "Exposed" is heading somewhere genuinely intense.
