Ka-Zar #2

Ka-Zar's 1997 return to the Savage Land kicks off in earnest with this second issue, cover-penciled by Andy Kubert and inked by Jesse Delperdang. The cover pulls no punches: Ka-Zar crouches low in the lush undergrowth alongside a fierce red-haired woman brandishing a blade, his loyal sabertooth companion Zabu looming at their side, while an enormous shadowy predator with a maw full of teeth dominates the darkness above them — all promising a "Vengeance Quest" with real stakes. Mark Waid's "Law of the Jungle" has rarely looked this alive and dangerous.
