In "Slave Galley of the Lost Nile," Kaänga, Ann Mason, and their companion N'geeso race to stop a treacherous plot that begins when a schemer steals Princess Valla’s sacred bracelet from Kaänga’s jungle. The thief, Capt. Kasna, drags Ann to Valla’s city, forcing the princess to choose between marrying the bracelet’s holder or watching her friend die. With time running out and the ceremony about to begin, Kaänga and N'geeso must break through the city’s defenses to save Ann and expose Kasna’s true intentions—before the lost Nile claims another victim.

In "Beware the Gorilla-Master," Kaänga races to rescue Ann after the mad scientist Dr. Roho transfers John Rice’s mind into a gorilla’s body, unleashing the creature to kill her. With Ann in peril and the transformed N'Tito caught in Roho’s twisted scheme, Kaänga must confront the beast before it’s too late—before the jungle claims another life.
