Justice Society of America: Supertown #[nn]
In "Supertown, Part One," the Justice Society of America grapples with the fallout of a city rebuilt on uncertain ground, as Flash oversees Monument Point’s fragile recovery. When Dennis Hogan brings Dr. Chaos into the fold and Flash defies Dr. Fate to keep Scythe imprisoned locally, tensions boil over—especially after a deadly threat forces Flash away, leaving Lightning to stand between Obsidian and Scythe. With the mayor and Lightning collapsing in mysterious silence, the city’s fate hangs in the balance. Written by Marc Guggenheim and illustrated by Mike Norton, with colors by Mike Atiyeh and letters by Rob Leigh, the issue’s cover by Scott Kolins captures the moment’s escalating dread.

As Flash leads the rebuilding of Monument Point, Dennis Hogan hires Dr. Chaos. Though Dr. Fate objects, Flash insists on holding Scythe in Monument Point, refusing to transport him to Belle Reve. After Flash is called away from that debate, however, to deal with a death threat against the mayor and Lightning, Obsidian arrives to mete out his own justice against Scythe. As Lightning keeps Obsidian from getting to Scythe, she collapses, as does the mayor, both apparently dead.
